Well Done Terry

Terry Hollands is the first Brit to stand on the Worlds strongest man podium in 14 years!

Still fairly new to the sport the big man from Dartford takes Third place in this years WSM competition in the USA. An achievment made all the more impressive by the quality of the field this year. Many considered the quality of the field in this years event to be the highest it as ever been making just getting to the final an amazing achievment.

I think we need to really put Terrys performance into perspective. This was one of the toughest fields ever.

Terry won the truck pull , A truck pull so heavy over half the field could not even complete it.
In the car walk terry hit an amazing 19 seconds ! but that only got him Second.
In the stones he breaks the old world record but again it's only good for second place.
Only 3 reps behind one of the great strongman deadlifters of all time.
Terry did not have one bad event by world standards but in this field just one low placing in the safe lift was all it took.

To sum up the quality of the field Wenta placed second and he had to set three wsm records to get that position. The stones, The safe lift and the fingers!

As for the winner? Well he was not happy when Phil Pfister took his title and that was clear for all to see. He said he would come back stronger than ever and take his title back. And thats exactly what he did. Marius Pudzianowski is the Worlds Strongest Man for a fourth time.

Worlds strongest man 2007

The finalists are:

Phil Pfister, Tarmo Mitt, Don Pope, Mariusz Pudzianowski, Dave Ostlund, Terry Hollands, Magnus Samuelsson, Mark Felix, Sebastian Wenta, Kevin Nee

This is considered by many as one of the toughest strongest fields we have ever seen in a wsm final  and the action starts this Friday

Mariusz as been saying the Americans are afraid to face him on his home ground so he has come to the USA to destroy them. With four Americans making the final we will see if that holds true.

Huge congratulations to Big Terry Holland who is looking to improve on his 7th place finish in last years final. And respect to that big Farmer from Sweden Magnus Samuelsson; Top of the game for over a decade in the toughest of all sports.
